Data collection, stewardship and dissemination

  • Are my data identifiable?

Determining What Documents to Submit

  • How do I sign my electronic submission? When is an attestation required and how do I submit this? Who can submit the attestation?
  • I have received new funding for my research. I already have an approved ethics protocol for the project. Do I need to notify the REB?
  • I need to create a Research Support Services (RSS) account or gain access to my funds, but I'm not ready to submit an ethics application. What should I do?

Determining when University of Guelph REB approval is required

  • Do I need REB approval to do research with secondary data?
  • Does my feasibility study require ethics review?
  • How should the REB/Ethics Office respond to requests from external researchers to conduct research at the University of Guelph?
  • I want to create a database of personal information. Do I need clearance from the REB?
  • I wish to do research about teaching and learning - are there special ethical issues involved?

Recruitment and Consent
