Animal Care Services (ACS) User Training

The Animal User Training Program ensures that individuals involved in the care and use of animals for research or teaching at U of G are well trained in ethical practices, regulatory requirements, proper handling and practical skills necessary to competently perform animal-based tasks.

The courses offered in AUTP includes compulsory core modules, species-specific hands-on training with online didactic material and facility orientations. Any invasive procedures that are not covered in the workshop curriculum, are taught in Mentor-Facilitated Training (MFT). All offering details you can view on facility orientation workshop schedules.

Trainees are assigned sessions based on their Animal Utilization Protocol (AUP). Completion of the compulsory online Core Modules is required before beginning animal work.
