Logo for the Centre for Biodiversity Genomics Centre for Biodiversity Genomics

Leads the world in developing and applying DNA-based systems for species identification.

Sequence diversity in short, standardized gene regions (DNA barcodes) enables fast, inexpensive, and accurate species discrimination. An efficient and cost-effective approach, DNA barcoding is not only transforming humanity’s capacity to understand biodiversity, but it’s also helping us to protect it.

The CBG also coordinates the International Barcode of Life consortium, supporting researchers and organizations across 40 countries, and leads BIOSCAN, a $180M global research program exploring species discovery, species interactions, and species distribution.

Centre for Cardiovascular Investigations (CCVI)

Combines expertise in basic cardiovascular biology and veterinary medicine to provide an excellent multidisciplinary training environment that supports and enhances basic, translational and clinical cardiovascular studies. CCVI is dedicated to the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, treatment, teaching and research.
