Pictured is a Naïo Orio with a custom sprayer applying fungicides and fertilizer on carrots growing in the Holland Marsh. There is often a disconnect between the manufacturers creating the robots and the needs of the growers, so for this trial the tool-carrying robot from France was modified with custom equipment to fit the needs of growers in the region. It aided in seeding, weeding, and spraying throughout the season, and was compared against conventional methods to help growers understand potential applications and economic benefits.
