Working in Algonquin Provincial Park, a shelter in the backyard of Harkness Lab housed an intermittent-flow respirometry system. The respirometry system enabled the measurement of standard metabolic rate on the study species, Lake Trout (Salvelinus namaycush). These cold-adapted apex predators were transported via float plane from a remote back country lake.
