Description
Sustainable Prosperity Research and Policy Network invites proposals for research projects on green economy transitions, particularly the use of market-based instruments for improved economic and environmental performance in Canada, and a more prosperous and sustainable Canadian economy. Proposals are invited in four research areas, as well as knowledge dissemination: Low Carbon Economy; Environmental Markets; Economy-Wide Issues; Market Tools for Sustainable Communities; SP Network Development Grants. Based at the University of Ottawa, the Sustainable Prosperity Network is a multidisciplinary initiative focused on green-economy transitions and market-based approaches to building a prosperous and environmentally sustainable Canadian economy. Formed in 2007, it includes scholars from across the country (as well as internationally), as well as partners from business, think tanks, civil society and all levels of government. The Network focuses on cultivating policy relevant research and disseminating important ideas and evidence to key audiences.
Eligibility
Permanent Faculty member, Graduate students and Postdoctoral Fellows. Please note: Graduate students must include a signed letter from a permanent faculty member describing their interest in the project and agreeing to supervise the graduate student(s) who will receive funding through the proposal.
Funding Availability
$18,000 to $20,000 for the fiscal year; Please contact SP directly to enquire about proposals with budgets in excess of $20K before proceeding with the application process. Faculty are encouraged to apply forResearch Time Stipend course-buy out in addition to research funding.

Project Duration
One year; Funds must be disbursed no later than March 31, 2016 and the final research deliverables submitted soon thereafter.

How to Apply
Principal applicants submits proposal (4 pages) including a budget, and anticipated travel costs. All applicants are encouraged to present their research at academic conferences or workshops. Applicants are thus encouraged to include anticipated travel costs in their budget.
