Description
The Globalink Research Award – Inria provides an opportunity for faculty at Canadian universities to strengthen existing international research collaborations and connect with colleagues at Inria at research centres in France through mobility of graduate students. Mitacs has partnered with Inria, a French research institution for computer science and applied mathematics, to support the two way mobility of students between Canadian universities and Inria Research Centres in France. Inria, a French institution for computer science and applied mathematics, operating under the joint authority of Ministries of Research and of Industry, is headquartered in Paris, France area and strategically located in eight Research Centres in France. Inria is dedicated to fundamental and applied research in information and communication science and technology and is organized around five fields of research: Applied mathematics, computation and simulation; Algorithmic, programming, software and architecture; Networks, systems, and services, distributed computing; Perception, cognition, interaction; and digital Health, Biology and Earth.
Eligibility
Full time Master’s or PhD students studying at a Canadian Universities, and Faculty at Canadian universities; Projects are jointly supervised by faculty members based at select Canadian universities and Inria Research Centres.
Funding Availability
Canadian students will receive up to$5,000 for travel expenses and related costs such as via reimbursements health insurance and return airfare, as well as a monthly stipend of 508.20 euros for the duration of the project.
Project Duration
12 – 24 weeks depending on project requirements. Projects can start as early as May 1, 2015 and as late as December 31, 2015.

How to Apply
Graduate students who have an identified research project and a host supervisor at Inria must submit a complete application directly to Mitacs. The International pre-departure Form and Mitacs Student Code of Conduct and an Ethics form can be submitted after the submission of the application; however, funds will not be released until Mitacs receives these forms.
