Insight Grants – U of G Internal Notice of Intent (NOI)Description
The next upcoming SSHRC Insight Grant competition is anticipated in October 2015. The University of Guelph wishes to improve its performance in this competition, relative to recent years, and accordingly, is taking steps well ahead of the competition announcement by SSHRC to plan and strategize for the best chances of success. In order to plan effectively, the Office of Research Services, along with college-level administrators (Associate Deans Research, College Research Managers) ask researchers to submit a U of G Internal NOI for consideration (see below under “How to apply”). Although submission of an NOI is not mandatory, researchers are greatly encouraged to do so as a means of taking part in an institutional effort to improve success rates. This effort includes using the NOI to gauge the level of resources needed to assist applicant success in the upcoming competition.

In addition to meeting SSHRC’s eligibility criteria, applicants must hold a faculty position at the University of Guelph for the term of the grant, e.g. regular full-time, contractually-limited, or adjunct.
