ResearchLink selected as name for new research administration e-system
Please join me in congratulating Miana Plesca, College of Business and Economics, and Anna Bolinder, Animal Care Services, for selecting the winning name, ResearchLink, for our new e-system for research administration, a system formerly known as RAIMS (research administration and information management system). The contest prize money will be split and donated to charities of Miana’s and Anna’s choices. Thanks to everyone who participated in the naming contest. Many thoughtful entries were received and selecting a winner was a real challenge for the Steering Committee.
ResearchLink is a meaningful name. It reflects the fact that all research-related submissions to the Office of Research Services, including grants, contracts, OMAFRA-UoG Partnership grants, human ethics, animal care, bio-safety and radiation-safety will be managed and linked via a common web-based e-system. It will link together the various offices within the Office of Research and will link research administrators with faculty and other clients and stakeholders. It is a particularly fitting name as it complements the name of the university’s on-line learning environment, CourseLink.
ResearchLink is closely aligned with the commitment by the Office of Research to provide excellent client services, to protect and enhance the University’s reputation, to manage research, to ensure accuracy of information, and to promote high ethical standards and integrity.
