Description
Research Canada’s Leadership in Advocacy Award was established by Research Canada’s Board of Directors to honor outstanding advocates for medical, health and scientific research. The Leadership in Advocacy Award is presented to individuals and/ or organizations who/which has made outstanding efforts in advocating for Canadian health research at the local, provincial and/or national level.
Eligibility
- Nominees may be an individual or organization/company/institution who or which represents or is drawn from a stakeholder group across the health innovation continuum: government, academe, industry, non-governmental (not for profit sector), patients, health consumers. All nominees must be advocating for Canadian health research taking place in Canada.
- Nominations are accepted from Research Canada’s Members, Supporters and Partners. [1]

How to Apply
The Vice-President (Research) encourages nominations for this prestigious award, and will serve as nominator for those nominees recommended by the Awards Advisory Committee. If you wish to nominate a colleague or to be considered for VPR nomination, please alert your Associate Dean (Research) and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by the internal deadline.
An Expression of Interest will include:
- A draft letter (two-three pages) addressed to the VPR which outlines how you/your nominee meets the criteria outlined on the Research Canada Leadership in Advocacy Award website [3].
- an up-to-date CV (up to 10 pages) for nominee (and each member of the team, if applicable);
If your nomination will be submitted by a different nominee, and therefore does not require the Vice-President's endorsement, please submit complete nomination by the external deadline.
