Description
The Canada Council for the Arts Molson Prizes are awarded to two persons – one in the arts and the other in the social sciences and humanities, who have distinguished themselves by their outstanding achievements. The prizes are intended to encourage ongoing contributions to Canada's cultural and intellectual heritage.
Eligibility
These prizes are for individuals. Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, as defined by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. They do not need to be residing in Canada.
Candidates must be nominated by one nominator; either an individual or an organization. Anyone or any organization with an interest in, and capacity for, nominating appropriate individuals is eligible to do so.

How to Apply
The Vice-President (Research) encourages nominations for this prestigious award, and will serve as nominator for those nominees recommended by the Awards Advisory Committee. If you wish to nominate a colleague or to be considered for VPR nomination, please alert your Associate Dean (Research) and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by the internal deadline.
An Expression of Interest will include:
- A draft letter (two-three pages) addressed to the VPR which outlines how you/your nominee meets the criteria outlined on the Molson Prize website [3]
- an up-to-date CV (up to 10 pages) for nominee (and each member of the team, if applicable);
If your nomination will be submitted by a different nominee, and therefore does not require the Vice-President's endorsement, please submit OR-5 and complete nomination by the external deadline.
