Mitacs-JSPS Internship

Program Information

Description

Mitacs has partnered with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) to support student mobility between Canadian universities and Japanese universities and research institutes. It provides opportunities for graduate students in Canada to pursue collaborative research in Japan, allowing them to advance their own research while promoting scientific progress in both Japan and Canada. It also provides an opportunity for faculty at Canadian universities to strengthen existing international research collaborations and connect with colleagues in Japan through the mobility of graduate students.

Eligibility

Canadian Graduate students for all fields of humanities, social sciences and natural sciences.

Funding Availability

Covers round-trip airfare, insurance, a maintenance allowance, and a research support allowance (host supervisor).

10 weeks in Summer 2017

Special Notes

Travel to the destination prior to the approval of the award is not permitted and neither Mitacs nor JSPS is responsible for any costs incurred before the application is approved. Travel may not be initiated until Mitacs has received all the documents, including the International pre-departure form, Mitacs Student Code of Conduct and Ethics Form and the application has been approved.
