Globalink Research Award

Description

Provides funding to support student research projects abroad in the following Partner countries: Brazil, China, India, Mexico, Turkey and Vietnam. The award helps faculty and students in Canada expand their research networks through international collaborations.

Eligibility

Senior undergraduate, graduate students (Canadian citizen, permanent resident or international student) and faculty at Canadian universities in all disciplines to undertake projects in accredited universities (see list of partner countries above). Students cannot undertake a research project at an institution where they have previously completed a degree.  For eligible partners please see: http://www.mitacs.ca/about/academic-partners.

Funding Availability

Up to $5,000 in research award to Canadian supervisor for student travel expenses.

Project Duration

12 – 24 weeks

Special Notes

Applicants should apply approximately 10-12 weeks prior to the start of the project to allow for adjudication, filing of appropriate documentation, and travel and accommodation arrangements.

If College-level review is required, your College will communicate its earlier internal deadlines.

Internal Deadline

Applicant submits a signed OR-5 form along with the complete application (including signature page signed by intern and host supervisor, and student CV) to: Research.Services@uoguelph.ca.

External Deadline

For project starting in September 2015. Applicant submits complete application by email as a PDF document to Mitacs:  to intsubmission(at)mitacs.ca.
