Description

Funding will be provided for innovative interdisciplinary research projects involving collaborations between the natural sciences or engineering community together with the health sciences community, with a strong focus on knowledge translation (KT) and training leading to health and economic benefits for Canadians, more effective health services and products, and/or a strengthened health care system.

Targeted funding from the CIHR Institutes, as detailed in the Funds Available section, is available for applications that are determined to be relevant to the following research areas: Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis.

Eligibility

  1. The application must include at least two Principal Applicants (including the Nominated Principal Applicant), one from the natural sciences or engineering community and one from the health sciences community. The Nominated Principal Applicant and the other Principal Applicants must qualify as an independent researcher.
  2. The Nominated Principal Applicant must meet the NSERC Eligibility Criteria and be at an institution eligible to receive funds from NSERC.

Funding Availability

The total amount available for this funding opportunity is $20.7 million over three years. This amount includes $300,000 from the Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis for applications that align with their relevant research areas.
