Horizon 2020

Description

Horizon 2020 (H2020) is the European Union (EU) funding programme for research and innovation running from 2014 to 2020 with a €76 billion budget.  H2020 aims to enhance EU international research cooperation and Canadian Universities are encouraged to participate in partnerships with European institutions.

The EU-Canada joint research priorities have been identified as aeronautics and space, health, information and communication technology, agriculture and food, and arctic and marine science.

Eligibility

All projects must be led by a European institution.  Canadian institutions eligibility to participate varies by program and specific funding opportunity.  Researchers are encouraged to consult the up-to-date list of Horizon 2020 program funding opportunities to assess if a specific opportunity could be a good fit with their research program and review their existing networks and collaborations with European institutions.

How to Apply

Interested researchers should consult additional information available from the European Commission’s Authentication Services portal on how to participate.
