The Office of Research has made significant progress on the implementation of a new electronic REB submission system – workflow testing begins in June.
This system includes a dynamic online form, document management and sharing features, real-time status information and powerful workflow functionality to improve user experience during the application, review and approval phases of human participant research protocols.
In preparation for an anticipated Summer 2024 launch, human participant researchers are invited to complete a short survey by end of day June 7, 2024. Your valuable insight ensures that our deployment and training approach is on-track to meet your needs.
Until the new system launches please continue to use the current forms and process as per the Research Ethics Office guidelines and do not delay any applications in anticipation of using the new system. Any submissions that straddle timing for the old and new system will not need to be resubmitted.
Demonstrations and training activities are being planned and details will be shared closer to the launch date – watch for further updates through Research Alerts.
Please note that due to the implementation, response times from the Ethics Office may be more delayed than usual, and expedited review requests cannot be considered except in extenuating circumstances.
