Description

Douglas R. Colton Medal recognizes excellence in:

  • research leading to new understanding and novel developments in one or more microsystems or nanotechnologies including photonics/optoelectronics, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), nanoelectronics, microelectronics, microfluidics, nano-materials, and embedded software; and/or
  • the application of microsystems and/or nanotechnology in Canada

Eligibility

Candidates for the award may be faculty, students or alumnae who have successfully completed a Master's or PhD degree in a Canadian university within the previous three calendar years.

Prize

The medal and a cash award of $4,500

Special Notes

The University may submit one nomination per year.  Therefore, this nomination will be adjudicated first at the College level, and second at the University level.

If College-level review is required, your College will communicate its earlier internal deadlines.
