Description

The Beef Council Research Council's (BCRC) mandate is to determine research and development priorities for the Canadian beef cattle industry and to administer national check-off funds allocated to research. The BCRC invites Letters of Intent for research aimed at achieving specific priority outcomes identified in program areas. 

Eligibility

Any individual or organization (academic institution, private industry, government or not-for-profit government organization) with the ability and/or a track record of success in carrying our research projects in areas relevant to the Canadian beef industry is eligible to apply. 

Indirect Costs

15%

Project Duration

Projects between one and three years in duration may be submitted. If the need for a longer term is required, it must be clearly demonstrated in the application.

If College-level review is required, your College will communicate its earlier internal deadlines.

Lead applicant must submit the Letters of Intent  electronically to proposals@beefresearch.ca.

Internal Deadline

Those invited by BCRC to submit full proposal submit a copy to research.services@uoguelph.ca for administrative review. 

External Deadline

Lead applicant must submit the Full Proposal electronically to proposals@beefresearch.ca.

How to Apply

Letters of Intent must be prepared using the file entitled "BCRC Letter of Intent Form" which can be downloaded from beefresearch.ca and reviewed with Adobe Acrobat Reader. Please review the instructions and guidelines provided at beefresearch.ca for full instructions and guidelines. Completed Letters of Intent can be submitted electronically to proposals@beefresearch.ca

Information For Co-applicants

If you need to meet a deadline set by the lead institution for this opportunity, please ensure that you provide the Research Services Office with at least five days in advance of the lead institution’s deadline to review the application or your proposed component of the project. Please be in touch with the Research Services Office at research.services@uoguelph.ca ahead of the deadline if it looks like it will be difficult for you to submit all the required documentation on time (i.e. budget, proposal, OR-5 Form).
